The hydraulic boring machine moves on special rails that are set up directly in front of the obstacle. With the help of an auger and cutting head the machine bores an opening, removes the soil, and pushes a metal pipe casing inside the area of the tunnel that has been created. |

Next, a new section is welded to the external edge of the pipe casing, thus allowing the machine to continue boring deeper inside the tunnel. |

This process repeats until the obstacle has been traversed. |
